Marty,

I'm wondering if what you're saying is true about a pair of Violet-green Swallows that showed an interest in one of my nest boxes. I haven't seen them for the last couple of days, and I wonder if they gave up. I hope I'm wrong, and I'll keep looking for them.

I'm also anticipating a decline in the Anna's Hummingbird population. Presumably they start breeding in February, and we had a particularly brutal February, with sub-freezing temperatures which had to make for a lack of insects leave alone flowers.
