Passing through downtown Seattle Friday morn, about 7:30 a.m., I
was surprised to hear, and then spot, a singing male NASHVILLE
WARBLER in the high-rise urban envirnoment of downtown
Seattle. The male was singing from the ornamental maples
(Acer norvegicus I believe) along 5th Ave, very close to
5th and Pike. Also, a CASSIN'S VIREO was singing from near
the south entrance to nearby Discovery Park the same morning.
