Spent most of the day amid rain showers birding Ridgefield areas and later Highway 503 in Cowlitz County with visitors to the area.? Among 97 species h ad 5 finches at my home park near Salmon Creek (House Finch, Pine Siskin, Evening Grosbeak and both goldfinches), and a Townsend's Solitaire.? Best bird of the day was a Gray Flycatcher along the Oaks to Wetlands Trail on Carty Unit of Ridgefield NWR, based on wing extension, eye-ring, back color, and?a tail drop although I didn't get a good look at the bill before it disappeared.? Hoping somebody was able to get out there later in the day to relocate it .
