Subject: [Tweeters] Fremont Osprey Nest Thwarted?

Long time lurker, but wanted to pass this along:

A pair of osprey have been scoping out the Fremont area for the past two
weeks. They've spent a lot of time on the newly refurbished tower next to
Sound Mind & Body that will carry power between Fremont and Queen Anne.
Well, this morning they decided to start building a nest on top of the
tower on a plank that was left up there by the workers last Fall.

Well, it turns out that today was when work was scheduled to begin finishing
the work on the towers and workers showed up and cleaned up the "mess". The
osprey weren't too happy and spent much of the day on the opposite tower or
circling overhead complaining.

They are clearly fond of that particular tower, because this evening they
were both back on it, even though the original plank has been removed.
Admittedly, it isn't the best place for them considering everything they
drop lands right on the Burke-Gilman trail. But, since it is likely that
this is a newish pair that would like to setup in the area, it sure would be
cool if they had a place to do it.

The tower can be found in the middle of the map here:

Take care,
- Tom
