Hi Tweeters:
The weather out here in Des Moines and Kent was quite nice today. We had sunshine, temps in the low 60's, and an occasional light mist-type shower. There was a fallout at Lake Fenwick in the morning. About 50 or so WESTERN TANANAGERS, and about 35 WILSON'S WARBLERS. An OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER was singing 3 Beers. A WOOD DUCK mom was swimming in the lagoon w/ 3 small chicks. There was a silent WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE by the swim beach parking lot, and I heard a TOWNSEND'S WARBLER. We saw a RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER.
Down in Kent near the golf course the big Bald Eagle nest had an adult and a juv. The juvenile is probably about 7 inches tall, is gray, and has a bit of white downy fluff on its head.
Yours, Carol Schulz
Des Moines
