Hi Tweeters,

I made a quick stop at Nisqually NWR in between running errands with my daughter Cally.? We managed to time our?stay there between the worst of today's rain squalls.? I didn't have my spotting scope, but managed to quickly find 1 BLACK TERN with my bins at the far end of the first fresh water pond along the new boardwalk trail.? This was around 4:00.? Thanks to Roger Moyer for posting about this earlier and for Bill's follow up post!??The tern?often flew right over the male Ruddy duck that Bill also mentioned.? It really was very birdy there in general; I wish that I could have stayed longer.? On the way out, a male BULLOCK'S ORIOLE was?vocalizing from a tree in plain view next to the trail.? We made it back to the car just as it began to pour once again.

Good birding,

Lonnie Somer
