Just this Wednesday I had 6 Evening Grosbeaks (first of the year) and that
same day had the first of the year Black-headed Grosbeak (female).

Subject: [Tweeters] Grosbeaks? Snohomish area. Other sightings At My Feeder

Hello Tweeters!

I live just outside Snohomish on about 5 acres. We have two wetland areas
on our property. One is an open area that used to be a horse pasture, now
we've been restoring it by diverting a ditch the previous owner dug as part
of his attempts to drain and fill it in. The other wetland area is a creek,
full of skunk cabbage and willows with tall trees shading it.

I think TWO different types of GROSBEAKS have visited our generic mixed seen
feeder in the past week.

A Black Headed Grosbeak and what may have been an Evening Grosbeak also
visited.

This OTHER Grosbeak had a nicely black and yellow striped head. I had a very
clear view of the yellow and black striped head. It's beak was large and
finch-like. I only spotted this one once so far this spring.

Other birds in the vicinity of the feeder:

Redwing Blackbirds

BrownHeaded Cowbirds

White Crowned Sparrow

Golden crowned sparrow

Hairy Woodpecker

Pileated woodpecker

House finches

Pine Siskins

Fox Sparrow

Sparrow, smaller than fox

Gold Finch

Crow - tried, but couldn't hang on to the feeder.
