The weather turned out to be quite nice today making for a pleasant
birding trip to Discovery Park. The highlight turned out to be a
small flock (eight birds) of RED CROSSBILLS in the conifers next to
the tennis court. WESTERN TANAGERS, WARBLING VIREOS, BAND-TAILED
PIGEONS, AND SWAINSON'S THRUSH were observed on numerous occasions
throughout the park. Warbler species seen included ORANGE-CROWNED,
WILSON'S, YELLOW, BLACK-THROATED GRAY, and COMMON YELLOWTHROAT. I had
a total of 53 species seen including a few other cool birds such as:

OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER
HUTTON'S VIREO
PURPLE FINCH - 2 birds
EVENING GROSBEAK - 2 birds
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK
