Greetings from North Bend, WA.

We were going to take a bird watching trip today, but decided to stay home
and get some other things done. So, we filled our feeder and bird watched
from home.

Great day! We saw 23 species through our sliding glass door. Highlights
were:

Evening and Black-headed Grosbeaks

Wood Ducks (2 pair)

Warbling Vireo

Wilson's Warbler

Western Tanagers (2 males)

The most awesome prize was the Lazuli bunting!!! We determined that it was
a non-breeding male, according to Sibley's. This bird showed up under the
feeder three times this day, so we were able to get real good looks with the
binoculars. We've never seen one here at the house, but have up in the
mountains. What a TREAT!!!!!!!!!

The rest of the species we saw today included:

A pair of Mallards

Rufous sided Towhee

Song Sparrow

Dark-eyed Juncoes

Chestnut-backed Chickadees

Black-capped Chicadees

Winter Wren

Red-breasted Nuthatch

Starlings

Crows

Robins

Violet-green Swallows (these are nesting in a box on the house)

Vaux's Swift

Stellar's Jays

Rufuous Hummingbird

Swainson's Thrush

HOW FUN!!!!!
