Hey Tweets,

Another post up on the blog now - for Friday 5/27. Highlights:

AM at Davenport Cemetery: Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Townsend's Warbler, Townsend's Solitaire, Robin, Chipping Sparrow, and Red-breasted Nuthatch.
Reardan Ponds: Wilson's Phalarope (a life bird for me!), Sora, Ruddy Ducks, Redheads and Eared Grebes.
Morgan Street B&B: Sausage, Eggs, Hashbrowns, Toast, Coffee, OJ

I meandered from Davenport after breakfast into Spokane County, through Airway Heights and Medical Lake, picking up about 20 species there, but nothing unusual. At Turnbull in the afternoon, I had a good couple of hours, with Willow Flycatcher, Red Crossbill, Pygmy Nuthatch, Gray Partridge, Eastern Kingbird, House Wren, and pooosssibly a Pine Grosbeak all before reaching the headquarters. The finch in question is pictured in my blog, and I thought it was a Red Crossbill that I was shooting at the time (several of those had been seen and heard well before I took the picture). Any thoughts on the bird would be appreciated. Others at Turnbull included Sora, Say's Phoebe, Mountain Chickadee and Western Bluebird. There were occasional showers, but overall the weather was much better than expected on this trip.

Stayed the night at Steptoe Butte, which, guess what, has no campgrounds. Be warned! Know though that the stars are awesome, and sunrise and sunset are not to be missed. Whitman and Adams post to follow.
