Tweeters and Gary:

This description is a virtual dead match for the Gray Flycatcher I had on the n. side
of Corkindale May 14, and I did see the pale outer webs. The only detectable
difference was that my bird was silent, given that it was afternoon. The eye ring
was not nearly as distinct as with some Empids, like Pac-slope for example. As
Gary notes, the tail motion is unmistakable and the bird preferred open perches
close to Corkindale Creek.

Exciting to see a Black-throated Sparrow entry--we've had singles in Skagit
County before, but it has been a very long time. Also happy that birders are
drawn to Milltown access, this spot never gets the attention that Jensen and
the main Skagit WMA access off Wiley Rd gets, but can be good for migrants
at times--as this bird shows.

This has been a very unusual spring for "E. Washingtonians" in Skagit County,
odd given our below-average temps, too.
