This is a pre-notice to inform those who might be interestedthat Audubon Washington will sponsor the First Annual NW Bird PhotographySymposium at their Seward Park Environmental Center in Seattle on Saturday,November 5 from 9:30 to 4pm. Lunch will be served with sufficient personal timeto get acquainted with fellow participants and swap lies.

Though the program is still very preliminary at this point, the morning sessions should include various speakers with the afternoonreserved for break out sessions for different levels of interest in gear andtechniques (big lens, point and shoot and digi-scoping sessions could be heldat the same time depending on interest). Time and weather permitting, a lateafternoon workshop outside is contemplated. Major camera stores andmanufacturers will be invited to show their newest high-end gear during thesymposium.

There will only be room for 35 participantsso early signup and payment of fees will be encouraged. In many ways this firstsymposium will be a pilot for future, larger events if the interest shownwarrants it. Specific information on cost, topics and speakers will be providedas soon as final decisions are made. If you have any questions or suggestions, please send them to me at my personal email. The more we get a sense of whatfolks want before things are finalized the better we?ll be able to providethem. Jeff Larsen, former photographer for the Seattle PI is working with me onthis project and will soon have a web site up that will contain the major details.More to follow.
