Hi tweeters,
My dad and I went down to the skagit game range at wylie rd after school
today. We found a juvenile northern shrike responding to the waterthrush
call we played. The waterthrush was a little hard to locate but we did
find it a bit further down the trail towards the hunters blind. Not to
many blackbirds on wylie road most all starlings,so we checked another
spot along the west frontage road to I 5 where we have seen large flocks
of blackbirds. There was a flock of 1000+ birds a mixture of brewer's,
red winged blackbirds and starlings. Feeding on the side of the flock
was one rusty blackbird! What a beauty ! Got a couple photos and a new
bird on my life list.
