Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday November 3. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

A probable KING EIDER was seen November 2 off Cape Arago near Coos Bay. The
Ridgefield NWR VERMILION FLYCATCHER continues to be seen. On October 26 a
CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR was near Cape Blanco. A MANX-TYPE SHEARWATER was
off the South Jetty of the Columbia River October 28.

On October 29 a TROPICAL KINGBIRD was at Port Orford. Another was seen
November 1 in Florence. A HARRIS?S SPARROW is now being seen at a Langlois
feeder. A SWAMP SPARROW is now at Floras Lake. On October 28 two SABINE?S
GULLS were at the South Jetty of the Columbia River. One was seen the next
day south of Cannon Beach. A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen October 29 at
Gearhart. On October 30 a SWAMP SPARROW was at Cannon Beach. A GRASSHOPPER
SPARROW and a PALM WARBLER were photographed October 29 at the South Jetty
of the Columbia River.

Waterbirds are now gathering along the Columbia River in North Portland.
During the week 60 WESTERN GREBES, a RED-NECKED GREBE, SURF SCOTER, PACIFIC
LOON, and two COMMON LOONS were seen. On October 28 a possible PELAGIC
CORMORANT was at Lake Oswego. On October 27 a NORTHERN SHRIKE was at Ankeny
NWR. One was near Scio October 30. On October 27 a GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCH
and three CLARK?S NUTCRACKERS were on Marys Peak west of Corvallis. A
HARRIS?S SPARROW was seen October 31 north of Fern Ridge Reservoir. Up to
ten WHITE-FACED IBIS are now at Fern Ridge.

The ANCIENT MURRELET on the Columbia River off Cascade Locks continues to be
seen. On October 30 two SURF SCOTERS were at Big Cliff Reservoir near
Detroit Lake. That day two SURF SCOTERS were on Suttle Lake. A possible
YELLOW-BILLED LOON was at Wickiup Reservoir south of Bend. On October 29.
2225 BONAPARTE?S GULLS were counted October 29 as they went to roost in
Klamath Falls. A LONG-TAILED DUCK and a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER were on the
LaGrande Sewage Ponds during the week.
