Hello,
yesterday, late afternoon, there was a Eurasian Collared-Dove perched on roadside wires nearly across the road from The Islander store.? This is the first I have seen on the island.? I was returning from the mainland and did not have my camera, which is a shame because it would have been an easy shot.?I have not relocated it although I checked the area a few times since. ?Last fall I saw this species one time in the residential area near Gooseberry Point, and thought that it would?eventually show up on the island.? Does anybody know if it has been seen in any of the other San Juan islands yet?? I hope it sticks around and visits our feeders - we aren't much more than a mile away.
