Tina and I headed to Clark County for some of the excellent birds reported
there over the week. Matt had the VERMILLION FLYCATCHER staked out at maker
11 at Ridgefield NWR River S. We headed down to Vancouver bottoms and found
the BONAPARTES GULL and RED-BREASTED MERGANSER reported by Randy Hill on
Vancouver Lake and SNOW GOOSE along the Lower River Road. We then followed
up on Jay Withgott's report and found the PACIFIC LOON, RED-THROATED LOON,
and BARROWS GOLDENEYE in Vancouver at the end of SE Columbia Way from the
old groin that is now part of the river walkway.

On the way home we stopped by Woodland bottoms for the RUSTY BLACKBIRD
reported by Jeff Jendro. We decided to stop in at Nisqually NWR. Great
minds think alike. We ran into Matt, Charlie, Ryan and others in the
parking lot. The GRAY CATBIRD reported by Lonnie Somer was found
immediately. We did not re-located the Kingbird; but, Charlie heard a pair
of WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS on the outer walk returning from the twin barns
to the parking lot at last light.

It was a great day of birding.

Enjoy!
