Barb, Tweeters,

Years ago when I lived in Maryland, I worked in Roslyn, Virginia. We used
to watch the amazing spectacle of *European Starlings* flying to their
winter night roosts in downtown Washington, DC from our office. Every
afternoon just before dusk, a endless stream of starlings would be heading
downtown on an invisible highway, maybe a 100 yards wide or so and
stretching for miles. I recall having to explain the reason for this to my
non birder coworkers.

Cheers,
