Scriber Lake in Lynnwood(?) off 196th has alot of mallards. In the group was a hen who was darker and slightly larger (seems like indication of "park duck") than the rest of the mallards. Its bill was all dark (same color as the spot on a hens bill) and had a very dark eye stripe compared to the other hen mallards. The white on the outside of the speculum was a fine white stripe. Other than these few differences it looked like a typical hen mallard. I At first I just assumed park duck x mallard hybrid but being from back east a black duck came to mind. While searching thru pics I came across a duck called the pacific black duck. I saw a pic of the (hybrid pacific black duck and mallard) and it seemed like a dead ringer. No pictures to back up any of this. If anyone lives close maybe it is worth checking out. Prob just some domestic cross but you never know....
