Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday November 10. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls
at 503-233-3976.

On November 3 an adult male HOODED ORIOLE was at a Newport feeder. An
EASTERN PHOEBE was photographed at Hart Mountain Headquarters November 5 and
another was at Lone Ranch SP north of Brookings the same day. A bright
TENNESSEE WARBLER was seen November 9 at Malheur NWR Headquarters. BLUE JAYS
were reported during the week at Marcola and Springfield.

Very heavy migrations of loons and cormorants were reported during the week
along the coast. On November 3 a MANX SHEARWATER, 700 BROWN PELICANS, a
FRANKLIN?S GULL, and 7000 RHINOCEROS AUKLETS passed Boiler Bay. SURF
SCOTERS were reported during the week at Malheur NWR, Wickiup Reservoir, Mt.
Tabor Park in Portland, North Portland, ten at Thief Valley Reservoir south
of LaGrande and 20 on Hagg Lake south of Forest Grove. Two WHITE-WINGED
SCOTERS were at Wickiup Reservoir.

TUNDRA SWANS arrived in numbers during the week. A flock of 75 TRUPETER
SWANS was reported November 6 at Ridgefield NWR. A MUTE SWAN was at the
Fernhill Wetlands November 8. On November 9 an IBIS was seen at Ridgefield
NWR flying to Sauvie Island. That day two SNOW BUNTINGS were seen at Powell
Butte Park in Gresham. On November 7 a RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was at the
Koll Center Wetlands in Beaverton. Another was at the Redmond Sewage Ponds
November 3. On November 7 ten REDPOLLS were in Bend. That day a tight group
of 13 RED-NECKED GREBES were on the Columbia River at Cascade Locks.
