Howdy

This morning while sipping coffee in the living room about 7:15, I was
startled to see a Clark's nutcracker land in the heather patch. It hung
around the gravel driveway for about 15 minutes, occasionally nipping up
something tiny, then took off to the north.

Not an unusual bird for WA, but rare in Clallam Co., and definitely a
surprise at the 500-foot line along Mt Pleasant Rd. The snow line did drop
last night but still looks to be at least 2500'. The OPAS checklist online
does not indicate any winter sightings, but does note irruptive behavior --
maybe we're in for some?
