In and around town including North Yelm I have noticed more Scrub Jays, lately.
Most of these are near oak stands. There is one particular stand of
oaks on Canal Rd. where
a Scrub Jay is *always* perched on the electric line. In Yelm there
are Scrub Jays
seen near Prairie Park and near the oak stand near the creek park and trail.

I am curious as to the acorn production elsewhere in Washington - it
appeared quite sparse
from the few stands I looked at this year in North Yelm.
