Hi Tweeters & Inland-NW-Birders -

An updated version of the 2011 county year list project is up at
Washington Birder. We've received updates from almost all the
counties with details through the end of October. County compilers,
especially for the underbirded counties, would appreciate receiving
reports of any birds seen in their counties (A list of compilers is
available at the link, below)

At this point in the most county totals are close to where they were
last year at this stage, though the overall pattern is for counties
this year to have a lower species total, even though the statewide
total count is up a little.
16 of 39 counties are doing better this year than they were last year
(11 in western WA, 5 in eastern WA).
Last year at the end-of-October update, we had tallied 346 species in
Western WA, 325 in Eastern WA and 381 state-wide.
This year we've tallied 352 in Western WA, 315 in Eastern WA, and 385
statewide.

If you'd like to take a look at where things stand, the list and many
other interesting files are at the Washington Birder website:

compilers, including direct links to some individual county year
lists with more details and more frequent updates:

Thanks to all the compilers and all those pitching in to sketch a
picture of another year's birds in WA.
