Hello folks,

In the late afternoon of Sat Nov 19 and again today Nov 20 there was a Scrub Jay around my ground feeder near the corner of Cliff St and Maple St in Ellensburg. Blue above, off-white below, prominent breastband, white throat, pale upper back (not seen well yet), no crest, and dark bill. Slightly shorter and much thinner than the several Collared Doves regularly present. So far I have a rough cell phone photo showing a dark spot for the jay. The "ground feeder" is a cleared area in the center of the driveway where sunflower and mixed seed is spread. On both days the jay has been low in the lilac bush right beside (west of) the driveway, then up on the telephone line behind the house, and then has flown off to a small pine on the north side of Cliff St. Cliff St is between E. Third Ave and E. Fourth Ave on the south side of Craig's Hill. If the bird is there, it can easily be seen from your car.
