We got a very late start but Kevin and I went to Stanwood to see the Snowy Owls. We parked in the lot on Eide Road and walked further down the road. Just past the barricade I saw a path up the dike but it looked too slippery to climb so started walking on. Kevin, owl-spotter extraordinaire, paused on the road to look through the gap in the vegetation there and saw one Snowy Owl across the slough. While I hoofed it back to the car for the forgotten camera, Kevin looked over the field on the right side of the road and spotted a more distant Snowy Owl on a fence post in the field. Gee, that was easy. Thank you all for the owl reports and good directions.
