Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Wednesday November 23. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

One or two HOODED ORIOLES are now coming to a feeder in Seaside. On November
16 a BLUE JAY was in Bend. The VERMILION FLYCATCHER at Ridgefield NWR
continues to be seen. On November 16 a SNOWY OWL was at Driftwood State Park
north of Waldport. Another was along Hwy 18 near McMinnville November 19.

On November 20 nine PALM WARBLERS and a TROPICAL KINGBIRD was near Flores
Lake. Up to nine WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS are now at Millicoma Marsh near
Coos Bay. On November 22 over 2000 HERRING GULLS, 1000 THAYER?S GULLS, and
500 CALIFORNIA GULLS were at Siletz Bay.

On November 17 a SNOW BUNTING was on Dibblee Beach near Rainier. A SURF
SCOTER was there November 20. On November 19 a SURF SCOTER and two
WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS were on the Columbia River at Gobel, south of Rainier.
A HOUSE WREN was seen November 20 at Ridgefield NWR. That day a LONG-TAILED
DUCK and an EARED GREBE were at Smith/Bybee Lakes. About 500 SANDHILL CRANES
have remained in the Sauvie Island/Ridgefield NWR area. On November 20 ten
SURF SCOTERS and two WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS were on the Columbia River near
the Portland Airport.

A GOLDEN EAGLE was on Ross Island in Portland November 17. On November 20 a
RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was at the mouth of the Clackamas River in Oregon
City. A GREATER SCAUP was seen November 18 on Lake Oswego. On November 20 a
SWAMP SPARROW and a BARN SWALLOW was at the Fernhill Wetlands. The next day
a TREE SWALLOW and 17 BARN SWALLOWS were in Salem. On November 18 a BREWER?S
SPARROW was at Greer Park in Salem. On November 19 a RUFF was along Tangent
Drive near Tangent. Up to 10 IBIS are now being seen at Fern Ridge
Reservoir.

On November 20 two BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were on Grizzly Butte near Prineville.
A late TURKEY VULTURE was over Prineville November 21. On November 20 a
SWAMP SPARROW was at Hatfield Lake near Bend. That day a hawk survey east of
Klamath Falls counted 13 FERRUGINOUS HAWKS.
