Tweets, I work at the Federal Way Jimmy Macs at the Crossings near Weyerhauser. Twice in the last few weeks between 3:00 and 3:30 pm a Juvenile Coopers had come in to catch one of our well fed and fat Rock Doves. The first time it dropped the prey by the back entrance at a co-workers feet. She came in and told me so I went out to see. It was sitting on the light post looking down at us. I felt so bad, due to the people traffic, that I moved the pigeon away from the door so that it could retrieve it without fear. I watched for about 5 minutes at which time it flew down and took it away. Today, while tending to some guests, I noticed that it again had a bird and was dragging it along the ground onto a small bush. Before the last couple of weeks there were approximately 5-7 rock doves that hang out behind our building. Bird watching while working is always a treat! This young Coops should be well fed throughout the winter....or until the Rock Doves run out. Cheers, Amy SchillingerRenton, WAschillingera at hotmail.com
