Regarding the La Conner wild turkeys that were mentioned, they were declared a nusiance by a few outspoken townspeople, most of them thrown out of the town, where they landed at Precious Life Animal Sanctuary in Sequim in Aug. of '09. I saw them while visiting there a couple of months ago. You can read all about their story by going to www.preciouslifeanimalsanctuary.org and clicking on their Spring 2010 newsletter. It's a small shelter with mainly farm animals and they're barely getting by so if anyone is inclined to help, they could sure use it.
