Tweeters,

The Hawn brothers dropped by at noon for the sparrows: got the Harris's, not
the Swamp. However, while looking for the Swamp Sparrow, Brandon spotted a
NORTHERN SHRIKE out in the wetland; the first of the season here. On our
first long-distance, rather quick view of the shrike, we thought it an
immature bird. However, the next sighting was definitely that of an adult.
We might have two birds, but more likely the first sighting had a more
orange tint from the lighting conditions on the bird.

Later, they spotted the three TRUMPETER SWANS, along with a coyote that
seemed to be heading toward them.

Nice day to be out.

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis
