Hi Tweets

Along with a bunch of other birders, today about 10:30-11:00 I saw three Snowy Owls from Thomle Road in Stanwood. Most of the way out the road there is an old metal barn. By standing on the dike behind the barn and scanning to the south across the fields the owls were visible in binoculars. Much better looks were had with spotting scopes. One owl was perched on the dike across the field to the south (today you could find two wooden posts and the owl was a ways to the right on the dike). Two other Snowys were on the ground in the field, further to the east, near a fence post alongside a drainage canal.

Good looks under good light.

Also visible from the location, a Peregrine Falcon, an American Kestrel, several Northern Harriers, a couple of Rough-legged Hawks, a Red-tailed Hawk and a nice perched Short-eared Owl.

Good birding!
