Hi All,

Ross, Dan and I enjoyed a very enjoyable, calm, partly sunny day at
Ocean Shores. We had high hopes of storm-blown, pelagic birds from a
viewpoint on the dunes near Browns Point. But the two hour plus of
sea-watching yielded only one distant Sooty/Short-tailed Shearwater. Ah
well.

The highlight bird was a Immature (1st-yr) EMPEROR GOOSEat the Ocean
Shores Sewage Treatment Plant. It was in mostly adult plumage, but there
was some dark feathering in the head.

We did not see any Snowy Owls, but we really didn't go looking for them.

There was some entertainment value in watching folks venture near the
jetty and occasionally get a bit wet from breaking waves. But we also
witnessed one guy be hauled off on a stretcher with a broken leg, so it
wasn't all fun and games for some.

Cheers and good birding,
The Waggoner's
