Hello,

I spent today - a beautiful day - birding Pend Oreille and Stevens
Counties. I began early this morning around Calispell Lake with the
highlight being numerous small flocks of Common Redpolls. Other notable
birds in the area included six White breasted Nuthatches, two Brown
Creepers, a Northern Pygmy Owl, and 35 Tundra Swans sitting on the ice.

In Cusick Meadows, there was a dark Northern Rough Legged Hawk. There were
more redpolls in Cusick.

In the afternoon, I went to Key Point near Kettle Falls (Stevens County)
and relocated the Glaucous Gull that Tim Durnell found yesterday as well as
a Mew Gull among the many Herring, Ring bills and a few Californias.

Later in the afternoon, I found five Trumpeter Swans on the small Colville
River near the town of Valley.
