Subject: [Tweeters] Snowy Owl - Dungeness Spit

Judy Mullally and I walked out on the spit yesterday and found a very fine
Snowy Owl in the log filled lagoon just west of the Graveyard Spit junction
- about 3.2 miles out. It was not far in from the crest of the spit, and
seemed quite unfazed by the hikers heading for the lighthouse.

Other birds seen were a Red Throated Loon, several Black Scoters, Western
Grebe, Dunlin and Sanderling, and 200 plus Brant.

The tides are fairly high all day at present - we enjoyed timing the waves
around the driftwood, but both got our feet wet a few times, though we
avoided Ruth Sullivan's fate at Ocean Shores.
