Subject: [Tweeters] Snowy Owl and Gyrfalcon Umatilla NWR (Oregon side)

Tweeters,

Sidra Blake and I observed a Snowy Owl on the southern boundary of the McCormack Unit of Umatilla NWR just southwest of the refuge sign on Patterson Ferry Rd. The bird is about 0.5 miles west of the road along the boundary fenceline near a cluster of farming equipment which it perches on. Please respect private property on the south side of the fenceline.

Sidra earlier in the day found a grey phase Gyrfaclon 2 miles east of the owl or one mile south of the steelhead hatchery. The bird was flying east and was not refound later in the day.

Cheers,

Tyler Hicks
