Went out with my brother from Colorado today, and it was a magical afternoon. The weather broke for us, and we hiked most of the way out to the lighthouse. We managed to get one Snowy Owl into the scope just before it was time to turn around. On the way back, as the wind picked up, a Common Murre was spotted and photographed in the surf just a few feet off shore. We also got 3 species of Scoters, common loons, a bunch of unidentified loons, and the usual suspects.

Thanks for all the Tweeters out there making this great trip possible! We started out three days of birding all over eastern WA and the gorge, hoping we might get a snowy owl along the way. Who knew we'd find it in the same place we went for the scoters?
