We found the tufted duck yesterday at 9:30 AM, on our second trip to the lake; on a sunny, calm day. As mentioned in earlier posts, the drake has white sides motttled with grey. It spent more time feeding than on the surface while we were there so required some persistent viewing to see all the field marks.

The site is relatively accessible, with several handicapped parking slots next to a paved trail gently sloping to the small lake's edge where the duck could easily be found with binoculars. Sharon wheeled in and immediately found it!

Thanks for the continued up-dates on the individual through tweeter posts.
