Dear Tweeters
Through November a hairy woodpecker has been boring holes into
several of the cedar shakes which make up the siding of our house. We
have lived in this house for over 25 years and have never witnessed
such an occurance. We are wondering if this behavior has anything to
do with the fact that we have just painted our house. Perhaps there
is something attractive about the paint or the color of the paint (we
changed the color from brown to blue). Does anyone know what we can
do to help stop this behavior without harming the bird or the
environment?
Thank you
Kevin Head
