I just posted my favorite images of 2011 on my website, and I thought it may be of interest. I recall a Lee Rentz posting in July about Eagles stealing from Peregrine Falcons at Shi-Shi beach, on the Washington coast in Olympic National Park. I was at Shi-Shi about two weeks later, and there were two fledged Peregrine juveniles roosting in the trees near the end of the beach at Point-of-Arches. I witnessed the adult Peregrines catching gulls, in one case turning it directly over to a juvy. The local Bald Eagle pair also had a fledgling that mostly sat on the sea stacks and got fed when the adult Eagles raided the nearby gull colony. Watching the raptor show was amazing.

Have a look at a Peregrine photo, and others of my 2011 favorites, at: http://www.garyluhm.net/bio/tips_1211.html#peregrine

Thanks for looking,

Gary
