Hello, fellow Snowy Owl enthusiasts! Today my friend, Rick and I decided
to look on roads G and H east of Mansfield for Snowy Owls. And, we found
one! Rick says it is definitely not the one he found yesterday in Ok. Co.
on Cameron Lake Rd.
This bird was on Road H, between 15 and 16. It was about 1/3 mile south
of 16th. We first saw it on a rock on the east side of the road. I
walked around the car to look through the scope, and the bird was flying
towards us! It landed on a small rock right on the edge of the road, but
quickly flew farther west, landing on the crest of a small rise.
Beautiful bird. It was still sitting there when we left. This was about
2:15 p.m. I'll never get tired of seeing these beautiful birds.
