It started fairly slowly but activity really picked up for my 7:30-11:30
Battle Ground, Clark County yard birding this morning (highlights only):
Greater White-fronted Goose 16
Wood Duck 4
Great Blue Heron 1
Cooper's Hawk 1
Killdeer 1
Band-tailed Pigeon 4
Vaux's Swift 2
BLACK SWIFT 1 (9:55am)
Common Raven 2 (first ones since March)
Violet-Green Swallow 250 (most in two flocks)
Swainson's Thrush 2 (plus 6 nocturnal migrants)
Varied Thrush 4
American Robin 101
Cedar Waxwing *571*
Yellow-rumped Warbler 9
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Yellow Warbler 3
Black-throated Gray Warbler 2
Purple Finch 19
Evening Grosbeak 56
Pine Siskin 5
Keep your eyes and ears skyward.
