Subject: [Tweeters] My dead hawk was an owl !

Thanks to all who offered suggestions, but especially to Gary Shugart who
pointed out that feet feathered right down the toes to the base of the claws
means an owl, rather than a diurnal raptor.

It's pretty certainly a Great Horned, which is interesting, as in ten years
residence here I have never seen or even heard one, despite having woods all
round, and spending a good few hours out on the deck on winter nights.
