A group of us birded parts of Kittitas County yesterday. The Diamond Head
hawk watch site was breezy and cold, with a pretty steady stream of
accipiters. The day's highlights included Prairie Falcon and Merlin near
Swauk Prairie, Northern Shrike along Bettas Valley, and a dozen or more Gray
Partridge along Smithson Rd. east of 97, and some terrific autumn foliage.
