Hi Tweeters,

After going east over white Pass on Sunday 10/16/11 I stopped at Clear Lake
in Yakima County. Walking up to an overlook from a pullout near the dam I
found a RED-NECKED GREBE in the center of the lake. At the far end of the
lake with numerous common duck species was a PIED-BILLED GREBE. Back heading
east on US 12 I stopped at a paved pullout about halfway along Rimlock Lake
just west of a large rock island and saw a PACIFIC LOON foraging near shore.
Farther out on the lake were hundreds of WESTERN GREBES with a few HORNED
GREBES mixed in. I believe there were also a couple EARED GREBES present,
but due to distance and light conditions could not be positive. These same
conditions also prevented any sorting through for Clark's Grebes.
