Hi Tweets,
Someone at my gym this morning jogged my memory that I thought
I'd seen a smallish goose-like bird at Green Lake last Tuesday. The gym
report was of 4 first-year WF Geese. So I walked over to Green Lake again
this morning, and sure enough I found the same bird plus two of its friends.
I probably haven't seen first-year birds before-they don't have the dark
marks on their bellies and there isn't much white at the base of their
beaks, and they are still smaller than the mature WF Geese I've seen before.
These birds were remarkably tame and were hanging around with a bunch of
mallards in the bay just south of the north parking lot (and building with
the swimming pool).
