Hi Tweeters
A very bright?BOBOLINK in winter plummage?was seen by 8 or 9 of us. It posed for lots of excellent photos on the brambles and small trees at the edge of the dike, just south of the gate at the outer boardwalk.? I can share them if requested. The area is not open to public and we picked it up while?doing the UGS?monthly survey, but the bird could be seen from the gate and at one time was on the ground at the gate.
?
Lots of other birds were seen as well.? The Northern Shrike is back as is the Great Egret.? The White-throated Sparrow was seen again today between off the boarwalk between the Barns and the Nisqually Trail.? Twenty seven of us watched a Peregrine Falcon take a Long-billed Dowitcher from midair and then eat it from its perch on the Douglas Fir near the Visitor's Center.
