Subject: [Tweeters] Gig Harbor: Two Ravens, Many Crows

When I took the dogs on a neighborhood walk this afternoon, I noticed
that the resident crows near the Gig Harbor QFC grocery store were
gathered and making a loud racket about trespassers. No binoculars
with me, so it took a while to spot and identify the interlopers. I
could hear them before I could see them... two ravens high up in a
tall evergreen. The size difference was remarkable between one "brave"
crow who had perched quite near one of the ravens. The raven seemed
easily twice as large! When both ravens finally broke cover, I was
able to clearly see a pointed raven tail silhouetted against t he sky
before they were lost again in the dark fir branches. The first raven
dodged north, the other east, each closely followed by a band of
raucous crows. With so many crows around and less and less good
habitat, ravens seem fairly uncommon in this area , but they're always
a treat to see. Too bad it's usually because of the crows' noise.

Why can't Corvids just be friends?
