Frank and Mary Montgomery and I stopped by the Edmonds fishing pier this afternoon (10/22/11) and saw the previously-reported Ancient Murrelets. There was at least six. I estimate that they were about 1/8- to 1/4-mile offshore, mostly associated with a small feeding frenzy (other birds involved included Common Murre, Rhinoceros Auklet, Pacific Loon, Heerman's Gull, Red-necked Grebe, etc.). Overall our species list was the same as what Carol Riddell reported from earlier in the day except we did not see Marbled Murrelet.
