Hi all,

Frank & Mary Montgomery and I found a banded Western Gull at the Westport Marina today (10/23/11). We were able to read the entire band, and I reported it to the Bird Banding Lab and all ready have the info on the bird: It was banded near (?) the Farallon Islands, California (near San Francisco) on June 18, 2004 and was "too young to fly" at the time, which makes it 7 years old now.

Later we found a Bar-tailed Godwit among 400 or so Marbled Godwits at Tokeland, and there was a probable American Golden-Plover at Midway. It was distant, but it looked pretty good for American. If someone else reports a Pacific from there anytime soon, I will invoke the two-bird theory.
