Hi Tweets:
My sister and I saw a PACIFIC LOON in almost complete breeding plumage perched out on the water north of the Des Moines Fishing Pier at noon today, Sun, Oct 30. There were also 7 or 8 HARLEQUIN DUCKS in the area near the pier. There were showers and a small sun break today. Two California Gulls were in w/ a group of Gl-winged Gulls begging for food in the parking lot. I had never seen Calif. Gulls do that before. Gulls in the water were Gl-w Gulls and hybrids, and Mew Gulls.
Yesterday, on a gorgeous, partly sunny day, a group of us on a field trip saw a EURASION WIGEON on Lake Lorene in Federal Way's Twin Lakes area. It was with a group of 250 or so American Wigeons.
Yours, Carol Schulz
