We're having a widespread outbreak of Tansy Ragwort, an invasive noxious weed that, according to state extension services reports is toxic if ingested by wildlife or domestic animals. It is a tall plant with one or more stems that can reach as high as six feet, topped by a bright yellow, daisy-like flower with a darker yellow center in which is a seed cluster.
I have noticed American goldfinches apparently feeding from the seed cluster and would like to know if the seeds would pose a threat to them or other wild birds. If so, I'm going to have pull dozens from my absent neighbor's lot pdq.
