Tweeters,
I tried the Fremont Ridge Trail at Sunrise this morning. There were several
other birders there at the tower by 11am, but no one saw a Ptarmigan, at
least not while I was there. It was a beautiful hike though and I took a
lot of pictures. One good suprise on the way down was a Juvenile GOLDEN
EAGLE which I first saw in the valley from above and which later flew along
the ridgeline above me. I think I have the ID right since the main thing I
noticed from above was the extremely light rump/tail with a dark terminal
band.

Other good birds were CLARK'S NUTCRACKER, TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE, HORNED LARK
and EVENING GROSBEAK. I added a dozen pictures online.
